DPU is the only term where the seller must unload at the destination (it replaced DAT).

  • Export clearance
  • Transport
  • Unloading at destination

Buyer covers

  • Import clearance and duties

Where risk passes

Risk passes after unloading at the destination.

When to use it

When the destination has unloading capability the seller can manage.

Common mistake

Choosing DPU when the destination can't actually unload the goods.
